Happy retirement to Lance's Dad! and Happy Birthday Lance!

Lance's dad has decided to retire... now he can tend to his garden everyday!

It's also Lance's birthday! Treated him to Thai massage at Thai Odyssey at 1-Utama. Hope you enjoyed it! HSBC promotion: 90 minutes for RM75, usual RM85. They have personal rooms, nice ambience and polite masseurs.

We had a retirement dinner at Overseas Restaurant, Jalan Imbi. Initially we were quite impressed with the service; the car was properly parked, our table was ready... everyone was good. This was 8pm.

One hour later, we were still sipping our tea, and ran out of small talk, "Where's our food???" . We finally checked with the waitress, she went hunting for our order.... but never return.... We got another one and again this person also went hunting for our order. We were thinking, one-by-one, they are going to dissappear because they cannot find our order and couldn't face us..

Finally, one of them return and what was their excuse for not serving us? She said that our order was placed in the downstairs kitchen while we are sitting upstairs. As a result, no one cooked the dishes and no one realised that the order was not processed....

Luckily they managed to redeemed themselves by getting out our orders finally... the food was good. No pictures of the food though, we were just too hungry....

After we have finished the food and paid our bill (quite pricey for some dishes). We waited for Lance's Avanza. The valet had parked it quite far from the restaurant in an alley. He drove all the way out of the alley in reverse gear!!! I salute that guy lah!

Yeah, the massage is good - I guess the HSBC priviledge makes the deal pretty good! Didn't know certain parts of my body can bend like that! Tue 16-May-2006 01:40

When to Berjaya Times Square as my mom wanted to collect a prize that she won in a radio contest. Hanged around for the "My Mom - the Iron Chef" contest and lucky draw. We managed to bagged 11 bags of goodies and my mom got her toaster.

With all the baggage with us, and not a single trolley in sight, we had to take it around with us. Lance say, "Nothing is FREE in this world" , since he had to carry most of the stuff.

Everyone was cranky and the mood was down because there are no chairs and couldn't decide where to eat. Had a late lunch at Starbucks, RM63.50 for 4 coffees and 4 bread stuff.

Ha ha! The shots turn out pretty ok straight out from the Olympus C-770UZ huh! Anyway, the picture titled " P5064419_ed" was taken becoz of the nice yellow paint! Tue 16-May-2006 01:37

"Armadillo with snake scales" looking fruit

Looks like scales
Looks like armadillo
Fruit overview
View all 9 photos...
My ex-manager came back from Indonesia recently and brought with him this interesting fruit for us to try.

This is an unusual fruit, called "salak". I googled it and you can read more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salak

The Salak fruit, in my opinion, smells like a jackfruit (nangka) and the skin is really scaly. The texture of the fruit is quite confusing, it is a little crunchy yet not chewy.

I let my family try this fruit and I got mixed reactions... in the end, I have to finished it myself! My mom say she preferred a jackfruit..

I couldn't resist some shots..... My sister had to endure my photo taking as she was waiting to try out the fruit but I was taking pictures of the process of peeling it...

Hahahahaha! I see you caught "photog sickness" ... can't resist, can you? Wed 19-Apr-2006 00:37

You will noticed that after all your friends have reached the successful stage, you can hardly get to see them. The only time that you meet up is during someone's wedding...

Well, I managed to meet up with a few of my old friends (ex-coursemates and ex-colleagues) at Guan Hoe's wedding. I was the only one with a photographer taking pictures for me and I am not even the one getting married!

Here are some of the pictures for sharing. Again, thanks to Lance (http://lance.fotopages.com) for taking the photos!

Some were underexposed! Need some Photoshop Sorry ya... Mon 27-Mar-2006 06:23

I attended Guan Hoe (ex-coursemate & ex-colleague) and Diana's wedding at Concorde Hotel, KL.

The ambience was nice and the food was good.
The steamed garoupa was so big that I was almost afraid to eat it, the taste delicious. There was also an interesting lobster salad.

I split this event into two category; the wedding and the reunion...

These pictures were taken by Lance (http://lance.fotopages.com). Thanks, Lance!

Cute clips

View all 4 photos...
Lance bought these cool animal clips over the weekend.

It's really cute and will brighten up anyone's stationery.

Couldn't resist some macro shots of it....

Actually these animal clips are paper clips. It can clip a few pieces of paper together and looks really cute. I tried to make it an earring with disasterous results (painful one! ). It costs RM1.80 for a pack of 6. We had a difficult time deciding on which design to buy as it was all sooooo adorable. In the end, we came down to 4; elephant, rabbit, duck and cow.

No new updates ar? Did u go for the BMW Heritage Race Car Demo at KLCC?? Sun 19-Mar-2006 03:10

Chinese New Year is a time for gatherings and meeting with relatives.

On the first day of CNY, my family will visit my relatives and go on a house-to-house rampage of the food.

My mom hosted an open house this year with 'tang yuen', nasi lemak, fishballs and fries. Special on the menu was Vietnamese rolls..
